Solution 8:

One of the major pilgrimages in India is the Kumbh Mela, which is held every 12 years and is considered the largest religious gathering in the world. It rotates among four different locations: Allahabad, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain.

Men, women, and children of all ages can go on this pilgrimage. It typically lasts for several weeks, with the most auspicious bathing days falling on specific dates. People travel from all over India and the world to attend the Kumbh Mela, often by train or bus.

When they reach the holy place, they take a dip in the sacred river to purify themselves of sins and offer prayers. It is believed that taking a bath during the Kumbh Mela absolves one of their sins and releases them from the cycle of rebirth. People also participate in religious ceremonies, listen to discourses by spiritual leaders, and perform various rituals.

They often bring with them offerings such as flowers, coconuts, and sweets to offer to the gods and goddesses. Some also bring tents and cooking supplies to camp out for the duration of the pilgrimage.

Many pilgrims also bring back souvenirs such as religious books, pictures of the gods and goddesses, and small trinkets as a reminder of their spiritual journey.
