6. Explain the process of making yarn from fibre.
Solution:
Yarn can be made from fibre by the process called Spinning. From the mass of cotton, fibres are drawn and twisted which brings together the fibres to form a yarn. Two devices that are used to spin fibres into yarn are the takli or the hand spindle and the charkha. The charkha or spinning wheel is also a hand-operated device for the spinning of yarn.
