The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) slashed 30 per cent of the syllabus for the year 2020-21 for classes 9 to 12 because of the reduction in classroom teaching time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
The Board in its official notice also stated that though 30% of the syllabus is cut from the new academic year 2020-21, teachers should ensure that students understand these topics so that they can use the information in connection with other topics.
The Board also made this clear that the deleted portions of the CBSE syllabus will not be included in the internal assessments or the year-end
The question paper is designed in accordance with the syllabus. If students have studied thoroughly and covered all the topics of syllabus then they can easily score decent marks. Most of the students make mistakes by diving into the subject without going through the syllabus.
